Consuming large amounts of water too is a good way of preventing heartburn.

Apple cider vinegar when mixed along with honey and warm water can provide relief from heartburn. Buttermilk if consumed during heartburn can reduce the pain and soothe the stomach. Having cinnamon tree or sticks can also reduce the pain associated with heartburn.
