The symptoms of acid reflux include heartburn, regurgitation and dysphasia.  The liquid content present in the stomach refluxes into the esophagus in this condition. There are several acid reflux home remedies available to cure this condition.

The best acid reflux home remedy is apple cider vinegar. The acid present in apple cider vinegar is similar to the acid present in the stomach and as such it makes the entire digestion process a lot easier. A table spoon mixed with water taken during dinner time is recommended. Ginger root has the ability to absorb stomach fluid and also calm the nerves. We can either chew a piece of ginger or take them in form of capsules. Fennel seeds contain an element known as anethole, which can prevent acid reflux. A half tablespoon of fennel seeds needs to be chewed slowly during dinnertime to prevent heartburn. Anise and lavender tea also reduce the amount of acids present in the stomach.

Fruits and vegetables such as bananas, apples, figs, pineapple and papaya along with carrots and cabbage can control the risk of heartburn. Cinnamon, cardamom, mace, nutmeg, and slippery elm are a few herbs and spices also can help reduce the risk of heartburn. Drinking a glass of milk is also a good option for people who are prone to heartburn. Taking a glass of water in which lemon is mixed, about 45 minutes before meals can also help cure heartburn as the potassium present in the lemon can neutralize the stomach acid. Drinking radish juice combined with glucose or sugar candy powder can prove to be beneficial to people who suffer from heartburn.

Carrot juice is also quite effective against heartburns. Many people recommend consuming a banana along with sugar and cardamom powder has a soothing effect on the stomach and can help cure heartburn. The milk of raw coconuts is also said to function very well against acidity. A combination of cumin seeds, coriander seeds and sugar candy mixed along with two tablespoons of water when consumed twice in the morning and in the evening after meals can have a calming and soothing effect on the stomach tissues and lining.

Black pepper mixed with rock salt along with half a tablespoon of water consumed once in the morning and evening can totally eliminate acid reflux. A mixture of caraway seeds and lemon juice along with water can also alleviate the pain related to heartburn.

Water dilutes the stomach and cleans it and as such, it is absolutely necessary to consume at least 8 glasses of water every day in order to avoid heartburns.
